Galaxy A7 | Samsung's First Triple-Camera Smartphone
Samsung has announced the 2018 Galaxy A7, its first smartphone with a triple-lens rear camera, following in the footsteps of Huawei’s excellent P20 Pro.
It's clear which feature Samsung feels most strongly about in this newest addition to the A series: despite its other innovative new features, Samsung outlined the triple lens camera in depth when presenting the new model.
The triple camera is made up of three different lenses — an 8-megapixel wide angle lens, a 24-megapixel lens and a depth lens that allows the camera to create so-called "bokeh effect" photos, which is when an object is in focus but the background is blurred.
The front camera has an adjustable LED flash for custom control of selfies, as well as the Selfie Focus and Pro Lighting Mode features that make photos look professional. Plus, the filters are built-in, so no need to go to Instagram for that perfect sepia image.
The phone will come in four colors, including blue, black, gold and pink, and seems to arrive just in time to take on the colorful iPhone XR. Samsung choice of colors and wallpaper for the press render does look somewhat similar to iPhone XR renders.
The model also comes with Bixby and Samsung Health. The ultimate selfie smartphone for phone photographers and those who are constantly documenting their experiences, Samsung's Galaxy A7 is set to roll out this fall in Asian and European markets. Its price has not yet been announced.
