Just two weeks after OnePlus took the stage in India to officially reveal the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus TV, the vendor is holding another event this Thursday in London at 11:00 AM EST / 4:00 PM BST. Where the company introduced the OnePlus 7T Series to the European market. In addition to the previously-announced OnePlus 7T, the company introduced the new Pro model, which is a successor to the OnePlus 7 Pro.

The company unveiled the OnePlus 7T ($599 at OnePlus) only last month, a phone that sits below the existing 7 Pro ($750 at Amazon), released in May this year, offering toned-down specs at a more affordable price. And now we have another new one: the OnePlus 7T Pro.

The OnePlus 7T Pro is very similar to the 7 Pro from earlier this year, It runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 Plus processor (rather than the standard 855) which promises extra power. It also uses the new, faster Warp Charge 30T, as well as a slightly larger battery at 4,085mAh, a minor increase over the 4,000mAh unit in the 7 Pro.

It also comes in a new Haze Blue finish. Aside from that, it's mostly the same as the 7 Pro, except it only comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also ships with OxygenOS 10, based on Android 10, out of the box.

In addition to the OnePlus 7T Pro, we should also be introduced to the 7T Pro McLaren Edition, which will follow in the footsteps of the ultra-premium model OnePlus added to the OnePlus 6T line last year. This year, the McLaren edition doesn't offer much that's out of the ordinary, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage, which you could already get with the OnePlus 7 Pro.

The only thing that makes it stand out is, of course, the design, which uses the signature Papaya Orange color from McLaren cars in certain parts of the phone. As OnePlus has partnered again with British supercar brand McLaren on an even more juiced-up version of the 7T Pro. As well as featuring attractive Damascus steel-effect patterning on the back, it has a McLaren orange stripe, orange detailing on the power button and camera unit as well as 12GB of RAM. There's a special pattern on the rear glass as well.To hide all of that, you can use the new McLaren case, which has a pattern and textures inspired by the company's cars.

iOS 13 : Support For Siri Integration Added To Google Maps, Pandora And Waze

iOS 13 : Support For Siri Integration Added To Google Maps, Pandora And Waze

Now that Apple has officially released iOS 13, Third-party developers would now be able to release apps, which can have access to Siri without requiring any kind of configuration from the user end.. Pandora and Shazam have already released updates that add such features a few days ago, even before iOS 13 was made available to the public. Now, Google has updated its widely used Maps and Waze apps with Siri integration.

So, if you are using an iPhone with Google Maps installed, you will be able to tell Siri to navigate ‘home’ or any other place via the app and it’ll start the navigation, something that was not possible before. Because, trying to use a non-Apple app with Siri required setting up a Siri Shortcut. Sometimes, even that wouldn’t work.

This feature was already revealed by Apple back at the WWDC 2019 conference earlier this year but it was only shown on Google’s Waze app. However, this has also reached Google Maps now. This feature can be accessed from CarPlay as well.

Users with the latest versions of Google Maps and Waze, will be able to ask Siri to give them directions using either of the two apps. For example, you can say, "Hey Siri, show me directions to the airport using Waze," and Waze will launch with the directions you asked for. It works the same way with Google Maps.

When it comes to navigation, you can now ask Siri on iPhone and CarPlay to get you directions to a destination using a specific app, if you don't specify which app you want Siri to use, your device will default to Apple Maps.

Speaking of which, Apple Maps has received a major overhaul in iOS 13, with improved detail, favorites, and a Look Around feature that's similar to Google's Street View. These changes have been added in the latest versions of the apps, so if you want to benefit from them, then make sure to download the new Google Maps and Waze apps via the App Store.

Apple Announced It's Doing Something It Has Never Done Before, By Providing Tools & Parts To Independent Repairers

Apple Announced It's Doing Something It Has Never Done Before, By Providing Tools & Parts To Independent Repairers

On Thursday, Apple has announced a new repair program, that will allow independent repair shops access to the same resources available to Apple Authorized Service Providers, offering more independent repair businesses of all sizes the same genuine parts, tools, training, repair manuals, and diagnostics to service out-of-warranty Apple products.

This marks a significant change for the tech giant following years of repair-related lobbying in the U.S. and Canada. The company has said it will now supply parts to third-party repair shops even if they aren't Apple Authorized Service Providers.

It’s a departure from past policies that have limited repair work to Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASP). The company has also been a vocal opponent of so-called "right to repair" laws in states like California that seek to give consumers the legal right to have their devices repaired without having to adhere to tech company's warranty requirements. Apple said it’s taking the initiative to make it easier for its customers to get service when they need it and in the most convenient way.Apple says its new independent repair program should help ease the repair demand on the company’s authorized partners

There is no such cost to join Apple's independent repair program. To qualify for the new program, the shop need to have an Apple-certified technician who can perform the repairs and the process for certification is simple and is free of charge, but it requires passing an exam and completion to the course material to Apple's satisfaction..The program is launching in the U.S. before being rolled out to other regions, likely including Canada. While the program is making its way to the U.S. first, Apple did test it with 20 independent repair businesses around the world, including one located in Canada.

"To better meet our customers' needs, we're making it easier for independent providers across the US to tap into the same resources as our Apple Authorized Service Provider network," said Jeff Williams, Apple's chief operating officer.

"When a repair is needed, a customer should have confidence the repair is done right," said Williams in a statement. "We believe the safest and most reliable repair is one handled by a trained technician using genuine parts that have been properly engineered and rigorously tested."

There are currently over 5,000 Apple Authorised Service Providers around the world, including in every Best Buy store in the US.This network will now be complemented by independent repairers.

WhatsApp 2.19.190 Beta Update Introduces "QR Codes Shortcut" For Easier Sharing

WhatsApp 2.19.190 Beta Update Introduces "QR Codes Shortcut" For Easier Sharing

One of the things that make WhatsApp stand out from all the other chatting apps user privacy. Developers of WhatsApp want to make sure that no third-party entity is able to intercept those conversations or the media files that are being shared via WhatsApp. This is why the WhatsApp is updated with software tweaks, bug fixes and security improvements every day.

WhatsApp keeps on getting new features that make it more useful and relevant. Last week, the company reportedly started testing a feature that allows its users to share their status on Facebook, Instagram stories, Gmail and Google Photos directly from the app itself. Now, as per a tweet from WABetainfo, WhatsApp may be gearing up to add a “QR Code” shortcut that will allow users to quickly add contact information by scanning a QR Code.

Other apps like LinkedIn and Instagram also provide similar features. WABetaInfo shared the report about this on its official Twitter handle and shared a screenshot of the feature as well, the QR code shortcut has been added to WhatsApp beta Android version 2.19.189. The tweet reads, “In the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.189 update, WhatsApp is working on a QR Code shortcut (it's not visible yet).”

According to the screenshot, it can be seen that soon the users would be able to access the QR code feature on the app using the dedicated button. The feature will allow you to add contacts from within the app rather than fumbling around in the contacts app of your phone.

Oppo And Xiaomi Teases Videos OF Their Under Display Selfie Cameras

Oppo And Xiaomi Teases Videos OF Their Under Display Selfie Cameras

The next innovation in mobile is peeking its head for all to see today after Oppo and Xiaomi, have just shown off working versions of under-screen cameras. Both companies have shown videos featuring unidentified smartphones, with selfie cameras that are hidden away underneath the screen.

Following the rise of divisive notch and hole-punch cutouts, several smartphone companies have been looking at ways of removing anything intrusive from handset screens. The industry has since given us smartphone cameras that pop out, flip up and slide out, while the hole-punch condenses the notch further still, but the next stage is going under the screen for full invisibility.

Oppo VP Brian Shen shared a short video clip in a tweet of what appears to be a notch-free prototype smartphone lying on a desk.“You are taking a very first look at our under-display selfie camera technology,” Oppo wrote in a tweet, with a video attached showing off how the tech worked.

The video needs watching a few times to see what’s going on, as only the top half of the phone is visible. The camera app was launched, which is already in selfie mode. The screen still seemingly showed a live view of the room's ceiling and the on-screen view is unidentifiable, and it’s not clear what we’re really seeing — until the operator puts their finger over a previously invisible camera lens, obscuring the view of what was presumably the ceiling.

"At this stage, it's difficult for under-display cameras to match the same results as normal cameras, there's bound to be some loss in optical quality," Shen said, in a follow-up post. "But, no new technology jumps to perfection right away."

You’d imagine that a number of Chinese smartphone makers are hard at work bringing this design to reality. Proof of that comes from Chinese rival Xiaomi shared a clip showing its own in-display camera technology within a few hours of Oppo’s video going live, which had been added to a Mi 9 prototype.

The video has two phones, one on the right equipped with a notch and a selfie camera. As the phones are rotated, you can see the one on the left doesn’t have any visible notch, or camera lens at all. Yet the operator opens the camera app, switches to selfie mode, and takes a photo.
